Rocks From Space Picture of the Day December 19, 2007
The photo shows a knife, made out of the famous Elbogen meteorite.
The total length of the knife is approx. 60 mm
It was originally etched from Chladni himself.
After etching he tempered the knife.
This is why the Widmanstatten pattern are so dark.
